Les Misérables

It's time for a movie/play/book review! And the reason these are all currently blended together is because (as you can tell from the title), I'll be talking about *drumroll* LES MISÉRABLES!! The one and only classic work of art based on one of the many uprisings leading up to the French Revolution! This classic novel, adapted into plays and films is something I respect so much more now that I've watched it (and am currently reading it).
Confession time: I hadn't watched or known the details of the actual story until right before my spring holiday, when I had time to sit and watch it. I had the pleasure of playing a compilation of songs from the orchestral soundtrack in my band class. AND I FELL IN LOVE WITH IT. My friend also had a hand in making me watch it (which I now thank her for).
The story is absolutely amazing. The plot, and how everyone is connected in one way is incredible. Everything just felt and looked SO REAL. Praise to the directing, producing, and (of course) the acting.
It also brought so much emotion to me, that I needed to take a Taco Bell break to keep myself from crying more. (Happy, movie tears. Promise)
First, let's just talk about how AWESOME Hugh Jackman did in playing Jean Valjean. And their voices: all of them! They sang everything LIVE!
They have more singing ability in one pinky than I do in my entire body.
And now, we discuss the students. Particularly, Marius Pontmercy. Let me give you the reasons why this amazing human being is so freaking amazing. Did I mention that he's amazing? I think I did. It helps for you to know Eddie Redmayne is my favorite actor.
Let's not forget the rest of the students. The wonderfully talented SINGING students. Who sing about freedom and make breeches look awesome.
Watching this movie felt like traveling back in time. Every minute was so engaging and I just loved it. I highly recommend this book/movie for anyone who is ready for some historical fiction with a touch of romance.
