Twenty One Pilots
So, "band chat". Let me tell you about a group called twenty-one pilots. This dynamic duo are a band that originated from Columbus, Ohio.
My method of discovery for this particular music group was whilst watching the MTV Movie Awards of 2014.
Sitting idly there, waiting for familiar faces, there was the performance of the song "Car Radio". Immediately awed by their talent and the meaning of the song, I decided to look them up. Turns out, they possess and entire world of talent.
Not only are their songs meaningful and inspiring, but so are their live performances. Whether it be using Ski masks or ukuleles, they always managed to bring a personal touch into a now famous genre of music.
Their most recent album, known as Vessel contains a great range of songs, from slow and emotional to fast paced and upbeat.
Furthermore, the lead singer, Tyler Joseph and drummer, Joshua Dunn are very close with their fan base. This fandom, known as "the clique" is a dedicated, yet small group of devoted and enthusiastic people.
Tyler and Josh always make their fans feel special and never forget to thank them, for helping them get where they are today. Being modest and extremely humble, they are truly devoted to their fans as much as we are devoted to them.
Recently, they released a song called "Fairly Løcal". In one excerpt Tyler says,"This song will never be on the radio. Even if my CLIQUE were to pick and the people were to vote..." Incorporating the clique in their music is something they pride themselves on and reminds us we are special.
Tour dates (although mostly sold out), have also been released, each ticket coming at a low $47.00 despite all the talent they possess.
Overall, twenty one pilots is a sometimes under appreciated, yet an extremely talented band. I, as a proud member of the clique, can't wait to see what they have in store next.
Their new album is set to be released very very soon! Keep your eyes and ears out!
